SUMMARY:Good Supervision Matters presents Robin Shohet: On Being a Supervisee
DESCRIPTION:Good Supervision Matters is pleased to present our first event to launch the service! We are a network of experienced and professionally trained supervisors. We are seeking to offer supervision on people’s supervision practice to a broad range of people with varied professional experience and working across diverse backgrounds. We are also building a community of experienced and quality supervisors. We intend to help supervisors become better in their craft and broaden their experience because we believe that Good Supervision really matters.\nWorkshop\nBeing a supervisee is a chance to bring whatever you need into the space without fear of judgement or blame. To be able to do that you need to feel safe. That is the first priority of your supervisor.  However, as the supervisee you have the opportunity to play an important role in making the relationship an honest and rewarding one. Both parties bring their past into the space and so transference and countertransference issues around authority are bound to come up. These issues can create an impasse between you.\nIn this seminar, working together with Robin, our aim is to look at the supervisory relationship, paying particular attention to how the supervisee can feel empowered and safe enough to be vulnerable. Our intention is also to help identify and understand the importance of psychodynamics in the supervisory relationship. This is the place where growth can happen. \nFACILITATOR \nRobin Shohet has been supervising for over 40 years. His latest book co-written with Joan Shohet, ’In Love with Supervision. Creating Transformative Conversations’, records their work together since the late 1970’s. He is also co-author of the seminal training text for supervisors Supervision in the Helping Professions (with Peter Hawkins). Robin sees supervision as spiritual practice, combining an inquiry into love and fear, exploring core beliefs, developing awareness and using appreciative inquiry. \nRobin last came to Australia to o er training on supervision to large and appreciative audiences. He now comes to us via zoom to offer more of his wisdom, insight and experience.\nDetails\nSeptember 26th, 2023\nTime: 5-9pm AEST\nLocation: Via Zoom\nCost: $200 (Discounted from $400 – Half Price to celebrate Good Supervision Matters’ First event!)\n \nTickets via their website: Event – Robin Shohet: on Being a Supervisee — Good Supervision Matters ( https://www.goodsupervisionmatters.com/being-a-supervisee )\n \n(this event is not associated with ACSA)\n
